Works where you already think

Last updated: 26 August 2026

Cognitive Atoms connects to the tools where your reasoning already happens — while keeping your cognition local and under your control.

Direct capture

These have a working capture path today.

ChatGPT Live

Capture a conversation you choose — via shared link, HTML export, or the browser extension — review it locally, and carry relevant context into a new ChatGPT conversation. Cognitive Atoms never sends the message for you.

Browser extension Live

Capture a selected passage or a full conversation from the page you are on, and send it straight to your local runtime for review.

On your desktop

These run against the Cognitive Atoms runtime on your computer.

Claude Code Desktop

Import your local Claude Code session history — including relevant work context, decisions, and outcomes — without uploading those sessions to Cognitive Atoms.

VS Code Desktop

Select code or text, or write a note, then save a decision, open question, rationale, risk, or task directly to your local Cognitive Atoms runtime.

Carry it in by hand

There is no dedicated connector for these yet — but the import path is real, and what you send is kept exactly as you sent it. On iPhone this is the Share Sheet, which accepts text, a URL, or a file, so any app that can share can reach Cognitive Atoms.

We would rather under-promise here. A source appears above only if a capture path actually exists today — everything else is on the roadmap below, without a date.

On the roadmap

Cognitive Atoms is expanding from AI chat continuity into the places where real decisions, reasoning, and work already happen. These are planned, not available today.

VS Code depth Planned

Richer in-editor capture and recall for decisions, rationale, risks, and the reasoning behind code.

Cross-AI handoff + MCP Planned

Deeper continuity between AI tools, with local MCP support for compatible clients.

Google Workspace Planned

Explicit “carry this forward” capture from Docs, Gmail, and Drive.

Obsidian + Notion Planned

Connect second-brain notes and long-term research to the same continuity layer.

Slack Planned

Save a decision or rationale from a message thread when someone explicitly chooses to preserve it.

Microsoft Teams Planned

Message-level carry-forward for organizational decisions and context.

CLI, local API, and webhooks Planned

Let developers connect Cognitive Atoms to scripts, git hooks, CI, and custom workflows.

More provider options Planned

Planned support for Perplexity, Grok, Ollama and other local models, and enterprise bring-your-own providers.

Google Workspace, Slack, and Microsoft Teams are planned only. Each requires additional local-first, permission, revocation, and compliance work before it can ship, and we are not putting dates on them until that work is done.

Every future integration follows the same rule: Cognitive Atoms captures what you explicitly choose to carry forward. It does not silently monitor, record meetings, scrape your workspace, or send messages for you.
